Broadening Experience
The opportunities to broaden experience are increasingly important as colleagues take up responsibilities for managing services for which they may have had no direct practical experience.
The continuing and rapid pace of change requires that regular opportunities are provided to permit colleagues to keep up to date with developments in their areas of responsibility and also beyond their substantive post.
The College is working to broker:
- Inter and intra authority job exchanges
- Secondments to national bodies
- Seminars on areas of current concern and interest
More information about each of these projects will be published on this page in the coming year.
A joint seminar with SEED took place on 20th February on the Parental Involvement Act. The PowerPoint presentations from the day can be found below.
A half day seminar about HGIOS 3 took place on 22 June 2007 for Heads of Service.The presentations have been removed from this page as they have been replaced by the latest versions from the 5th October seminar.
On 5th October a full day seminar took place about HGIOS 3. Contributions from HMI Morag Gunion, Terry Carr and Liz Morris, HMCI Frank Crawford and local authority colleagues, Sheena Liddell, Frank Cardle and Mary Devine.
