The Social Inclusion Committee is one of the ADES standing committees accountable to the ADES Executive Committee. It provides a forum to:
• Discuss current issues
• Compare policies and practices between Councils
• Monitor progress
• Gather and represent matters of concern
Our remit includes a range of aspects of inclusion:
• Disability Discrimination
• Additional Support for Learning
• Child Protection
• Equalities
• Pupil Support
• Flexibility in the curriculum/NEET
• Mental Health
• Interagency practice/integrated services
In the four meetings scheduled for 2006-07 the focus of the sub committee will be on:
• Implementation of the ASL Act
• Child Protection reform and quality assurance
• Integrated inspection of children’s services
• An organisational development approach to inclusion
